The program featured works by three of the greatest British composers—William Walton, William Lloyd Webber, and Ralph Vaughan Williams—along with the spectacular Four Seasons by Astor Piazzolla. Roman Simović graced our stage, bringing an extraordinary level of artistry and talent that was simply unmatched. His virtuosity and the divine sound of his Stradivarius transported the audience into a realm of musical brilliance, where every note resonated with passion and precision.
As a soloist, Roman Simović has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Teatro Regio Orchestra in Turin, the Halifax Symphony Orchestra (Canada), the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra in Hungary, Camerata Bern in Switzerland, Camerata Salzburg in Austria, as well as orchestras in Turkey, Poland, and the Netherlands. He has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Antonio Pappano, Daniel Harding, Gianandrea Noseda, Kristjan Järvi, Jiří Bělohlávek, Pablo Heras-Casado, Nikolaj Znaider, and Thomas Søndergård.
Simović has appeared at many prestigious festivals, including Verbier, White Nights (Saint Petersburg), Vadim Repin’s Trans-Siberian Festival, the Easter Festival, Ohrid Summer Festival, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Kotor Art in Montenegro, BEMUS and NOMUS in Serbia, Sion-Valais in Switzerland, the Bergen Festival, Moscow Nights, and festivals in Italy and Spain. He has performed alongside world-class musicians such as Leonidas Kavakos, Yuja Wang, Gautier Capuçon, Mischa Maisky, Shlomo Mintz, François Leleux, Itamar Golan, Simon Trpčeski, Janine Jansen, Julian Rachlin, Vadim Repin, Evgeny Kissin, Antoine Tamestit, Antonio Meneses, Nikolai Lugansky, and many others.
Since 2010, he has been the concertmaster of the London Symphony Orchestra. He plays a 1709 Antonio Stradivari violin, generously loaned to him by philanthropist and instrument collector Jonathan Moulds.
